  • Problem with learning function 1 year ago

Sorry, what do you mean by "have a try 3"? Same issue here. Latest firmware, tried learning but won't work unless button held down. The learning function needs to be fixed considering the device database is ridiculously poor. My Sony TV has discrete input codes but they are missing from the only database that works with it. I also can't even learn them from my Harmony. Without this, the input switching is a disaster. The codes for my Telus DVR are so basic, I need to learn half of them to use the device. I don't want to be mean but setting up this remote is turning into a full time job.

Haha, yup, after playing with this for a few hours, I took my old Harmony remote, cleaned it up real nice, told my household members to take very good care of it because we still don't have anything close to it to replace with. Good think I bought two X1s :). Maybe I'm being too harsh, let's hope they figure out the software, can't be easy, hardware is nice.

Also a80j here and tried many codes including the default and 67 or 107. Functions work fine for me but never on just one press, sometimes on two consecutive presses, almost always with three. I tried a 5mm IR cable to the TV, no luck, I tried finding a sweet spot for the IR emitter right on the unit, no luck. @lamb0985, are you still experiencing the same issue using codes 67 or 107? Perhaps it's just me, or issue specific to a80j units, can't imagine it's brand-wide.

Yes, this is another issue, albeit unrelated to my Sony TV IR comment (and the thread subject). Seems when the remote display goes to sleep it takes one click to wake it and another to apply your first command regardless of what device you're using. I assume this will be fixed soon as again, it is unacceptable. I'm sure display/remote can be enabled by motion or hard buttons could always be active even when display is off.

Yup, same here. It's really messed up. Sony TV, bluetooth connection is seen as keyboard so there are no buttons for "settings" or "input" so that can't be used, then IR mode only works with 3 successive quick clicks or holding the button in which case you get a few commands in a row, again unusable. I know it's early but if this system can't operate a Sony TV than not sure what to say. This should be pretty basic. You'd think at least some of the major brands have been tested.
