Very disappointed to hear that a “universal remote” cannot be used with a major providers” hardware. This is unacceptable.

There are definitely some shortcomings. Besides this problem, I’d like to see backlit keys and the ability to backup the remote to the app. I think they are you and trying (hopefully) to fill the void created by the demise of Logitech/Harmony. I don’t see a better and affordable option out there.

Can you “learn” the function through a keypress on the Samsung remote (assuming it has one)?

I don’t have your soundbar but I accomplished what you are trying to do by assigning the key to the far right of the ‘power on’ to the power off function. Since I don’t have cec, I created a macro for both the power on and power off buttons on all my devices to power everything on or off. Might work for what you are trying to do.
