  • Add PS Button 1 year ago

Having done some searching it appears the issue is not with Sofabaton its with Sony. Sony don’t allow unofficial equipment to turn the PS4/5 on. Harmony users are in the same boat (que Harmony user to tell me I’m wrong, and I could well be as I’ve never owned a Harmony or a PS4/5). But it appears you need to use the PS4/5 controller, buy the Sony Playstation Media Remote or use CEC from your TV to turn it on. There was a Bluetooth adaptor for the Harmony at one point but that is no longer available.

I was wrong with the Mix & Match (adding IR to a Bluetooth device) you can. Not sure if that is from the new update or always been like that but IIRC I tried it before and it didn't work. So ignore my advice about 2 Foxtel devises.

Over a string of e-mails I got them to understand our issue and their R&D department will look into it for the next update. So fingers crossed.

  • 【Tutorial】 X1 User Guide and FAQ, Continuously Updated... 1 year ago

I have read your question over and over trying to understand as I can leave mine overnight and it doesn't lose button configuration. Once a Devise/Activity is lit green it stays that way till either Off is pressed or another Device/Activity is pressed. The only thing I can come up with, as you mention “shows the device list”, is you are expecting buttons from an Activity to still be active in Device Mode, if so they don’t and it is nothing to do with the screen timing out. Please explain a bit more.

If you create a Device then an Activity and then change a button in the Device it doesn't carry over to the Activity. Your best bet is to delete any Activities the Foxtel is in till you are finished setting up the devises. Either teach the X1 all the Foxtel buttons in IR as a single device or as mentioned before have 2 Foxtel Devises (one Bluetooth and the other the missing IR codes) then create a new Activity. If you went down the single device route you are done. If you went for 2 devises then in the new ACTIVITY you need to allocate the IR functions to the relevant buttons. Remember Devises mode is only really for setting up the X1, for daily use it should be used in Activities mode only.

Just thought of another way. Not as much time teaching the X1 but bit more setting up. Create a new device called say Foxtel2 and teach the X1 just the missing buttons using method already mentioned. Now when you create an activity with the Foxtel in it include BOTH Foxtel devises, you can then assign the missing buttons in the activity.

If Sofabaton don't fix this you could always teach the X1 using IR. Press and hold Select and Home together on your Foxtel remote till LED flashes red, it is now in IR mode. Teach all the buttons to the X1 and then turn Foxtel remote back to Bluetooth by pressing Select and Foxtel button till LED flashes blue. Time consuming I know, it's a shame you cant mix and match IR and Bluetooth together on one device.

  • X1 Hub Upgrade Already! 1 year ago

@djmvt: Thanks for reply. I also don't have any of the issues other people are seeing. The App update happened automatically so I had no choice but “if it ain't broke don't fix it” so I think I'll stick with the older hub and remote firmware for now. I also get the Remote waking up by itself but never thought of that as an issue, maybe that's why my Remote and Hub never loose sync. The only problem I did get was the App and Hub struggling to communicate with each other and that turned out to be my placement of the hub, my router is in the loft and there was just too many objects in-between, moved it all of 20cm and been fine ever since.

I'm on App Version 3.2.9 but still on Remote 10 and Hub 13. I am very dubious about updating as Mute and Channel buttons no longer support long presses since the update. Can anyone who has updated to v11 and v14 tell me if they still work on pre-existing Activates? Mine are still working at the moment, although can no longer be edited.

Our equipment is irrelevant. The new version of your app no longer allows you to allocate a Long Press to Mute, Channel Up and Channel Down.
