  • Media Player: Long press and scrolling not working 4 day ago

For info the Long Press “Feature” in Activities allows you to allocate two functions to one button so for example instead of a quick press of Red being Red and a long press being Red Repeated (scroll) a short press will be Red and a long press "Record" (or any other function you like). This can only be done in Activities. In Devises and if not setup in Activities pressing and holding a button repeats (scrolls) its short press function.

There is some confusion going on here. Sofabaton are talking about the “Long Press” FEATURE that IS only available in Activities and allows for one button to have two functions NOT what I think your problem is. Forget the app it does not function the same as the remote (not on my X1 anyway) and does not allow a Press and Hold (I'm calling it this to differentiate it from the Long Press feature) to scroll, the remote DOES have Press and Hold to Scroll I use it on many of my bits of kit. You may only NEED scroll on the Zidoo but if Navigation and Volume scroll is not working at all you may have a dodgy X1s rather than an issue with just the Zidoo.

The Long Press Option is only in Activities so this is not going to be relevant to your issue as you have the problem in Devises Mode. Does navigation scrolling work with other equipment you have connected? Do you have to repeatedly press Volume to get it to go up/down or does this work as it should? Also just to confirm you are using the X1s Remote and not the app?

Does this happen when used in Devises Mode and Activities or just Activities? If just Activities have you set Long Press in Assign Commands for Remote Keys in the app for the navigation buttons?

  • X1S - Virgin 360 21 day ago

FWIR the 360 Virgin Remote is Bluetooth to the Box, yes its IR to control the TV but not the box. The Sofabaton uses IR to control the Virgin box so the box does not need to be made discoverable and the X1s wont learn from the Virgin Remote as its Bluetooth (except TV control which you don't need). As I mentioned more than one company makes the 360 for Virgin so the IR codes will vary and you may need to try a few different code sets from the Sofabaton data base.

“360 Box” is a user added code set, not from Sofabaton, have you tried “Virginmedia” > “360” or the one I suggested? The 360 box is made by more than one manufacturer so you may need to try more than one set of IR codes.

I don't have Virgin so can't confirm this but if you are trying to use Bluetooth you can't as the box only pairs to one remote and will be paired to the original one (no idea if it's possible to unpair the original and pair the X1s). However you should be able to use IR, VirginMedia is listed in IR but may not be the 360. Try adding “Ziggo Mediabox Next” (apparently the 360 is the same).

  • Problems with Sky Q Box 1 month ago

You need to turn Off CEC on all your equipment. Its this that will be turning the $ky box On then the Sofabaton (which thinks it's still Off) will send a Power signal which instead of turning it On turns it Off. Or if the $ky box has the option to use separate On and Off rather than just Power this is another option.

  • X1s off button 1 month ago

The X1(s) has been designed to be used in Activities Mode, think of Devises Mode as nothing more than telling the X1(s) what equipment it is going to control when setting up, so once setup you should not need to go into Devises and the Off button then does what you want, turns everything Off. If you need to use Devises Mode to operate your equipment then you have not set it up correctly or if you actually want to manually switch control between devises the U2 is a better remote. The X1(s) “used” in Devises Mode is a horrible remote but in Activities Mode it's great.

  • No Numeric keypad in Activity? 2 month ago

Not the “123” Icon. But to get the numbers to popup once you have created an Activity use edit and press Key Favourites then Add Normal Keys, select the Arris as device, highlight the number keys (can’t remember if they have to be done one by one or multiple can be selected) and then from memory I think you need to save. Now when you press the button at the bottom left the numbers (and any other keys you selected) will appear. If the order is wrong, again from memory, in edit mode press and hold till they become selected then slide them up or down.
