The hub is in a cabinet and I need to use the IR blasters. The problem, as stated, is that the blasters seem to have a VERY week signal. Even when I use the existing blasters I use with my Harmony, which are stuck in place, the Sofabaton hub is too weak to send a signal to the devices. The same happens when I use the Sofabaton blasters. This is not a flaw with the IR blasters, it seems to be a signal strength issue coming from the hub itself. What I am trying to determine is if this is a engineering flaw or if perhaps my hub is defective. If this is a design issue, then I pretty much have to stick the blasters in front of every device. For example, on my Integra receiver, the IR receiver is on the left side about midway up on the receiver. I have to have the blaster directly in front of this point - putting the blaster on the shelf about 1 inch away from the receiver does not work. I have to literally lift the blaster up about 2 - 3 inches for it to register. In effect, I would have to stick the blaster TO THE RECEIVER in order for it to work. Is this normal, or do I have a defective hub?
