I have pause on short press and play on long press. Soon becomes intuitative.

@SofaBaton The command repeat on my device (Sony TV) is already zero so cannot decrease it to stop commands repeating. Anyway have (after many tries) managed to learn the keys in question (Cursor Keys) from the original remote and that seems to have reduced the problem. Thanks

After quite a few trys have managed to get the X1 to learn a couple of keys but failing with others from the same original remote.

Just discovered that if I control my TV as a device the cursor buttons work fine but when using that device in an activity all but the slightest touch on the cursor buttons produces a double command.

Same here. I have £12 learning remotes which manage this basic requirement without taking a breath. Why is it such a problem for the X1
