  • Lost ability to control Rogers ignite after firmware update 1 year ago

Since my last reply I decided to factory reset and setup all the devices and activities again. This seems to have solved the issue I was having and I think at this point we can consider this resolved. Thanks for your help.

I appreciate the help with this. I checked for a firmware update through the app and it responded with a "no update" message. The remote tells me it's on firmware V9. I have restarted the hub and remote. The onscreen remote in the Sofabaton app still works well. The hardware remote still endlessly repeats commands after a single short button press.

  • Chromecast with Google TV??? 1 year ago

Dragonwyntir, I stumbled upon your post while trying to find solutions to a few issues I'm experiencing. As luck would have it, pairing and using my X1 with my Chromecast with Google TV is one of the things that working adequately for me. Thought I might be able to help if you're still not able to pair your hardware via Bluetooth. I had to create a new device in in the Sofabaton app via Bluetooth, select Other, named it Chromecast, selected an Icon I liked then tap complete. It downloaded a code base then I proceeded to the next screen where it said it was waiting for a Bluetooth device to connect. At this point I went into the settings on the Chromecast, clicked on Remotes and Accessories, clicked on Pair remote or accessory, the Chromecast then said it was searching for accessories and the Sofabaton remote appeared on the upper right part of the screen for me to select and pair to. After completing all that I was able to use the X1 to navigate the Chromecast on-screen menus. I did have to reassign the signal for the home button to a different selection within the downloaded code base but other than that it has worked fine for navigating the Chromecast. I hope this might help a little if you haven't already got it working. If you're past this point already on your own then just ignore this and carry on. Cheers!

  • Missing or incorrect Code Databases 1 year ago

I'm interested in this too as I'm in the same situation. I have assigned single commands to macros within the Activity I use to control my home theatre setup with some success. However, it's still somewhat arbitrary if a keypress will have the desired result. It's almost like the information in the code database isn't an exact fit for the Rogers Ignite boxes. Mine is the Xi6-T which I've read is (if not the same) similar to what is used by Comcast and others. I'm going to try using the Comcast/Infinity codes from the library to see if I get different results. I look forward to the software version upgrade mentioned earlier as this workaround isn't something I'd want to rely on in the long-term. Thanks for bringing this up here crewze, I'll be following along.
