Comfort Aire window unit

I tried learning the command from my original window units remote to this X1 it does not effect the window unit itself! Before I got this remote I was using an MX880 by URC it works the window unit fine. I even tried learning the codes from that remote and still it has no effect on the window unit. Why is this happening?
