I was attempting to set up my X1 and I was using my Gmail address. This fails with configuring the node on the app. I then decided to use one of my other email addresses that is NOT a Gmail address and that allowed me complete the setup.
If you are having this problem try another email address that is not a Gmail address and see if it works. I know they are working on getting Google Home integrated and I can't wait for that. I did get my X1 set up like my Logitech Harmony where I can turn everything on. Good Luck!
