Remote does not rejoin X1 Hub - LOST HUB

NeoInsight 1 year ago ⋅ 1290 Read it

1) I turned off X1 HUB for 10 seconds
 2) Plugged back in
 3) pressed a button on the back of X1 HuB for 3 secs, then the green light turned to blue and blinked
 4) Light on X1 HUB turns green after going through "Provisioning."
 5) Then click ok, and I see X1 HUB with an arrow or sideway chevron
 6) Plus, I see searching for X1 HUB via WIfi with X1 HUB in the list
 7) When I click X1 HUB, a floating box on Andriod appears saying "Start Connecting" then, nothing
 8)  So now I have "force stopped" the Sofa Baton App on Andriod's phone and re-opened the app Sofa Baton
 9) So now I see all the devices I created, but the Remote is not communicating with X1 HUB to Sync
10) When I try to pair the remote with X1 HUB, I get the message Lost HUB
11) The following procedure I tried was to turn off X1 HUB and retried re-provisioning HUB successfully, but the remote will find the HUB keeps saying LOST HUB
Questions:  What is the manufacturer name (Example - Universal Global Scientific Industrial Co., Ltd.) of the HUB and remote when I perform a network scan? I want this information, so I can find and reserve an IP address on the Router.
Special Note: Please make your answerback per number under each line if you have anything to add or answer instead of writing a paragraph.

hello, per lost hub, Pls kindly press the return key in the upper right corner of the remote to exit the prompt. Then open the app, Me---X1 settings ----pair with a new X1-Remote . Press and hold the top two keys of the remote control until pairing appears on the screen Tips: suggest press the right button( return) first, then press the left button( off), and hold them for 5-6s, then the remote will enter pairing status. If still no help, we suggest pls send your amazon order number and a problem video to our after-sales team sofabaton@outlook.com for checking, once they confirmed the problem, they will help you solve it asap.

It seems there is misunderstanding, We are using mDNS which doesn't need a DNS Server at home, we have an mDNS Server in our HUB, and we can discover the device via the app we mentioned last time(Android user can download "Service Browser", Apple user can download "Discovery-DNS-SD Browser)
@NeoInsight: Your solution is for DNS and is not in the scope of the question I asked, an unlikely scenario since most people do not DNS server at their home setup. Mine is a home setup. I illuminated in the previous question the Manufacturer : Espressif Inc. Hostname: espressif I need a way to identify IP address and MAC address. I have four expressif entries in Router Admin Management List. Is there a way to send a command (via Terminal) or acknowledgment so I know which one is X1-HUB out of the four expressif. entries. I have. Lastly, I cannot get the pairing LED flash on the remote and still says Lost HUB ! every so often when attempting to pair

    @SofaBaton: You can download an mdns search app, Android user can download "Service Browser", Apple user can download "Discovery-DNS-SD Browser"; If the phone and HUB are on the same LAN, open the app to search for a service "_x1hub._udp.", this is our HUB, tap it to see the IP address of the HUB (note that the MAC shown on the page is not the MAC of WIFI), you can confirm which is the HUB and check the MAC through the router management page;

As far as pairing goes, this procedure is Not working. Plus, I checked the update on the remote it says the firmware is V9. What else can I try?

@NeoInsight: Is there a way identify MAC address? Since I have more than one Manufacturer: expressif items on my network? In fact, I have several expressif items in the network routing table list

@SofaBaton: Sorry for the inconvenicne you meet, below is the answer, pls kindly check: For Step 6-7, because the app found hub after the initial pairing of HUB, but the version has been updated, the wifi will automatically upgrade the configuration, which takes about a few minutes. Therefore, you can't connect it during the period, you may not be able to search it as well even if you exit the app. Step 9-11, lost hub which could be a lost file or a prompt from the transfer terminal when synchronizing the configuration or upgrading the remote's firmware. Of course, the misuse may also cause the unpair. You can re-pair it. Operation is as follows. 1. Open the app, Me---X1 settings ----pair with a new X1-Remote 2. Press and hold the top two keys of the remote control until pairing appears on the screen Tips: suggest press the right button( return) first, then press the left button( off), and hold them for 5-6s, then the remote will enter pairing status. Finally, remote control is custom 2.4G and does not require direct communication with the router. Wi-Fi in HUB, Manufacturer : Espressif Inc. Hostname: espressif
