Is there no way to switch to or start an activity without sending power commands?
It does not appear that you can. All created activities include 'Startup' and 'Shutdown' settings which automatically include power commands you cannot remove or modify.
If this is as designed, it does not make sense. Currently you cannot switch from one activity to another without a series of power on/off commands being sent when you do.
