After opening the box, fully charging the Hub and remote, joining the WiFi's 2.4 GHz net, I updated the Hub's firmware. How to update the remote's firmware?

Next I added a device: Sony XBR65X850E. The codebase was downloaded. When I pressed the blue Power on/off test button, the Sony did NOT power off. I pressed the "No,go to repair" option which took me to a page that I do not understand what is needed. Question: The Sony TV is connected to the same WiFi, but to the 5 GHz net and not the 2.4 GHz net. Does every device need to use the 2.4 GHz connection rather than the 5 GHz connection?

The TIVO is directly wired to the network, not communicating wirelessly via the 2.4 GHz connection. Does the TIVO need to be connected wirelessly via the 2.4 GHz connection to work with the SofaBaton Hub and remote?
