How do I control my Apple TV sound?

I use an old HomePod as my center sound for my TV setup together with my Appletv and I had (now broken) a Harmony Elite which I controlled the sound with, now I use my appletv remote but I recently purchased the X1 and I'm not able to control the sound, I really need this function...
