How does source selection work on X1...

I am having trouble understanding how to set different sources on when building an activity on the X1. I have a Sony HT-ST7 as my sound system. This has one source button on it, so I need to cycle though my sources. I know there is an option for this Cyclic switching but I am not sure how it works. On one activity I need to set to HDMI1 and one OPT. I am coming from using a Harmony where you just specify the input name. On the X1 doe you need to manually define the sources and then their positions? How does do you set it so it always goes to that source regardless of where it was last set?

    My Insignia TV has a couple of HDMI ports that I connect to Roku and BluRay player. I have edited the "names" of the two port to ROKU and BLURAY and hoped those designations could be picked up the the X11 but cannot figure out how to do it directly. Instead I created a macro for each device that "presses the input" button twice (when switching from Roku to BluRay) and then pressing OK -or- for going the other way the input button only needs to be pressed once. Assigned them both to the blue key as this is an Activity level function. It seems to work but I wish that I could just specify the port name and have it work.
