How do I set all volume controls to be the amp?

On the U1 I managed to get the remote to control the amp on all devices for the volume. we don't use the Tv speakers at all. I can't see how to do this with the U1. How do I do it (if it is indeed possible....)

why can't I transfer the settings from the U1 to the X1?
