Sofabaton X2: Oppo-20x Input Selection ignored

Issue with OPPO UDP-205 (& UDP-203) input selection.

https://www.avforums.com/threads/sofabaton-x2-owners-general-discussion-thread.2540954/post-33284684

Note manual macros work and so the commands are fine. The issue seems to be that the commands are not triggered at all when changing activity between activities with both same or even different device.

Please note that although I've listed both direct input+numeric and indirect repeated input select, clearly the direct input+numeric is the priority.

Thank you

Chris

For convenience here's the input order 1 through 7.  I've tried numbering both as 1 through 7 matching Oppo or 0 through 6 matching Sofabaton.

1. Blu-ray player

2. HDMI In

3. ARC HDMI Out

4. Optical In

5. Coaxial in

6. USB Audio In **

7. HDMI In Bypass

* numeric input selection"

Setup:

Configured with "input" and selections as above.

Final key once number entered isn't needed so put in menu key which should have no negative effect to the result.

Issue

1) input selection during activity change or start doesn't work

When changing between activities with the same or different device the input selector doesn't work at all. Not even the "input" button.

2) input selection within "fix" doesn't work.

Testing within the device or activity test screens also don't work. No action is done.

Configuring identical sequence manually as macro does work fine, however defeats the point of having activities.

Expected result:

E.g. if the 7 total inputs and default/current input is 1 Blu-ray player and required input is 6 USB DAC, then the Sofabaton should select input to bring up the menu, and then press 6 to select the USB DAC. Sofabaton doesn't even press input. I've tried both allowing for the 0 position as key 1; and simply configured without position 0 set.

Indirect input cycle selection

Setup:

if input profiles set using the "input button to cycle through settings"

Issue

2) Again an issue with input selection not being triggered on activity change or start.

3) fix does operate but gets confused.

while the "fix" inputs selection does operate, it gets confused with the number of clicks required to move between the inputs regardless of the configuration whether to expect previous or current input to be the default.

Expected result:

E.g. if the 7 total inputs and default/current input is 1 Blu-ray player and required input is 6 USB DAC, then the Sofabaton should select input 1 to bring up the menu, and then 6 more times to select the Blu-ray player passing through the bottom on the way

Further detail on (4) above

The above issue with indirect input selection appears to be three fold:

A) if activity change rather than from fully powered off state, Sofabaton doesn't use the second option that the device remembers last input used. Seems to assume the activity was a fresh start and therefore counts from the first input as default.

E.g. if the 7 total inputs and current input is 1 Blu-ray player and required input is 6 USB DAC, then the Sofabaton clicks 5 times which undershoots and stops on coaxial input which is position 5. Should've selected input once to bring up the menu, and then 6 more times to select the Blu-ray player passing through the bottom on the way

B) first input selection brings up the menu , subsequent I put selections then used to cycle from 1, 2, 3 etc. Sofabaton seems to first input selection that brings up the menu also moves to the next input, therefore all inputs selected are 1 less than they should be.

E.g. if the 7 total inputs and current input of the current activity is 6 USB DAC and required input of the new activity is 1 Blu-ray player then the Sofabaton doesn't select any inputs. It incorrectly believes the device has only just now been powered on and forgotten that the current activity already has the Blu-ray player turned on and therefore will still be on 6 from the previous activity.

B) if desired input is before the currently selected input, then rather than counting down, off the bottom and then back to the top, Sofabaton seems to count as an absolute value of the straight difference between the two positions.

E.g. if the 7 total inputs and current input is 6 USB DAC and required input is 1 Blu-ray player, then the Sofabaton clicks 5 times which overshoots the Blu-ray. Should've selected input once to bring up the menu, and then 2 more times to select the Blu-ray player passing through the bottom on the way.
