Will we ever get a Local API?

Is Sofabaton ever going to release a local API?
 
It seems this has been brought up serveral times thoughout the years, but nothing productive has come to light. 

Sure there is the unauthenticated, web API that allows you to turn activities on and off but that's only so helpful and I'm horribly surprised it would be just open to the world without security authorization. Anyone with my URL can turn my activies on and off. 

Also it seems whoever designed the sofabaton hub and app has gone to great length to prevent anyone from reverse engineering the communication between the Hub and App. From what I can tell the messages are Raw TCP socket connections possibly containging protobuf messages.
