X1S - Initial impressions

I've had the X1S for about three weeks now, coming from a Harmony Elite. Here's my initial thoughts.

The build quality and feel of the remote is fine, BUT....
1. The set-up process is mind-numbingly frustrating! After three weeks of adding, editing, deleting and re-adding activities, I still haven't managed to get the remote in sync and can't figure out why. My system is pretty basic - Denon AVR, Sony TV, Shield TV Pro and a WiiM Pro for music.

I have set up three activities - 'Watch Sony TV', 'Watch Shield' and 'Listen to WiiM'. After some tweaking (some basic  commands added by the setup process were wrong - and you can't delete them in the 'edit' page - WHY???). Individual activities (e.g. Watch Sony TV, then power off when finished) work fine. However, it's when switching between acivities (e.g. Listen to WiiM and then Watch Shield without powering off first) is when the blood starts to boil!

In the above example, the TV and Shield will switch on OK, but the Denon will switch off. Or if Im' switching between 'Watch TV' and 'Watch Shied', the TV will switch off. The software does't seem to remember the previous power state of individual units when switching between activities. This is something that the Harmony excelled at.

Yes. I'm aware of the 'power state' options in the initial activity setup, yet I have tried dozens of combinations and nothing seems to 'sync' power settings between activities. I am exhasted with trying and have resigned myself using the OFF button between activities, which is a real shame.

2. That 'BACK' button!!! Whover designed this remote and put it at the top of the remote needs stuffing with a tin of dried egg! Totally the wrong place and ruins the 'flow' of using the remote. I would imaginge this could quite easily be rectified in a software update to enable a double-click of the scroll wheel to go back, or even enable the user to re-map this to an existing key or allocate it to a 'long press' of any key. Please consider this, guys in charge!

Other than this, I'm loving the remote. If these minor issues could get ironed out, this would really take the crown from the Harmony.
