Inconsistent Operation with Xfinity XG2V2 DVR

I just purchased the X1S and have it working correctly with 4 devices however, I can't get consistent operation when trying to control my Xfinity XG2V2 DVR. I realize that Xfinity uses RF (due to the ability for voice commands) however, your documentation suggests that it should work via IR. I don't have a remote from Xfinity that broadcasts IR, the only one I have broadcasts RF therefore, I have nothing to learn from. Any suggestions on this? If not, I'll have to return this...
