Sofabaton U1 Samsung tv bluetooth control

Is there any way to setup the U1 to control a Samsung tv over bluetooth? When I try to add it as an accessory nothing comes up at all. I used the other bluetooth option on the sofabaton but it cannot be found on the tv. The IR is pretty bad on the TV so was hoping to replace the bluetooth remote it came with with the sofabaton. Any help would be appreciated.
