My Sofabaton U1 universal remote drains batteries frequently. In a conventional remote I can go several monthsupwards of a year before having to change batteries. With the Sofabaton U1 I have to add fresh batteries every 5-7 weeks. When I receive that low-battery indiciation on the display, a temporary fix is to remove and reinstall one of the batteries. That clears the low power display and temporarily restores functionality.
I've used a personal multimeter to verify that the new batteries I put in to the U1 have proper voltage. I ensure that when the U1 is not being used that it's stitting flat face-up and undisturbed so that the the display times out and does not uneccessarily drain the battery. I use Sofabaton-provided remote profiles for my television, stereo and Amazon firestick. I don't have any macros set up on the U1. I'm using the most up-to-date Sofabaton app on my Android smartphone. I've ensured that the remote has the latest firmware update available. I'm using the remote within 15 feet of the devices I'm controlling.
Has anyone else experience symptoms of the batteries dying so quickly and frequently?
