Can't control LG TV

I have a very simple system with a visible LG OLED65CXPUA TV and a Denon AVR receiver inside a cabinet. The X1 hub is also inside the cabinet with an IR blaster from the hub to control the Denon receiver. I am able to control the Denon with the X1 remote but it will not control the LG TV. I expected that the remote would be able to control the TV directly without the hub since it has line-of-sight but that doesn't seem to be the case. What am I doing wrong?
