Day 1 with X1 - What a disaster

Bought an X1 remote from Amazon and received it yesterday.  Issues so far.

1) I have a Pioneer Elite SC-79 receiver - no option for my receive, so I chose the SC-77 which is close (essentially the same receiver minus a few inputs and not as many audio channels supported).

2) Discovered after purchase that the remote is not capable of sending IR signal.  This is a problem as all of my equipment (except for my TV) is in a closet.  Theoretically (if I could get the remote to work) I still wouldn't be able to control my TV - only the equipment in the closer can be controlled.

3). Inputs are missing from my receiver setup options.  Unfortunately a couple of them are inputs I actually use (SAT/CBL, COAX In).

4) I was able to get a couple of basic activities to configure successfully after several ours.  30 minutes into watching TV and using the remote for volume control only, it has now locked up with a message saying "no key."  If I roll the scroll wheel I can see that I'm in my "watch TV" activity but none of the buttons work.

This thing is a disaster.  I'm coming from a Harmony hub setup that I bought 8 or so years ago - that device was lightyears ahead of the X1, even 8 years ago.
