I'm new to this type of device and what I need is a remote control for a bt youview box in uk. I need to be able to change the channels from a different location
The youview box is in my father in laws house and I need to change the channels from my house.
My FiL has dementia and we thought it'd be nice for him to have bt and sky sports, but changing channels on a 3 number channel is just not working with him. Therefore my goal is to phone him, see if he wants to watch, say a game of football, and then change the channel for him.
I bought a broadlink rm mini 3 but even with my fair IT knowledge I have been unable to connect it to the network. On the BT forums I had a recommendation for the Harmony, but these are now out of production and someone said they'd heard of the sofabaton, but didn't know if it would work for me, but these forums were a good source of help.
I don't need any integration with any other smart devices, I just need to change the channels on the bt box.
