My Harmony remote finally died and I need a replacement. I found Sofabaton by way of Wirecutter. I have some questions before purchasing:

A lot of the setup and functionality relies on the Sofabaton smart remote app, which seems to have terrible reviews from people with real concerns about the need to register/create an account, privacy in general, and not to mention the app/remote simply not working for people. Does the manufacturer provide justifications and responses to these concerns? What is the minimum information required to create an account and what protection do you provide for customer data? A Google Play review rating of 2.2 does not inspire confidence.

Since I am not going to sign up for an account just to find out if it will work for my needs, here are the devices I need supported: -Yamaha RX-V795 -Monoprice Blackbird 4K HDMI Switch -Epson 3800 projector -Xbox One -Spectrum cable box -less important than the items above, but would be nice, IQAir HealthPro air purifiers
