U1 learn from original remote not working

I've had the U1 for about a week to replace my dying Harmony 650.  With videos I've figured out how to program most of what I need.  Setup found all of my devices well.  I was able to program a couple of keys for a device with "Learn from Original Remote" successfully.  Today however, every time I try this feature the window displays "Learning" without the "..." which seems to mean it will not fully start the read from the old remote.  I've tried multiple times for different devices and different keys and always the same.  Seems like a bug.  I'd have to do a factory reset and start over.  This is a deal breaker.
